Winter Lead Climbing Course

Spend 3 days learning the techniques required to lead climbs in the challenging Scottish Winter environment! Snow and ice climbing requires a good knowledge of the winter environment, so we recommend that people choosing this course would have summer multi-pitch experience and have attended our winter skills course, or have up-to-date winter experience. You will learn about how to prepare for leading on ice and snow, assessing snow and ice conditions, choosing suitable routes, what you will need in your winter rack, lots of gear placements, rope work, setting up anchors, descending from mountains, and climbing technique!
